Give the room a stronger point of view.

A feature wall is part of the architecture, not simply a finish placed behind the furniture. Panel proportions, seams, edges, and the relationship to doors and ceilings give it its character. Start by identifying the wall you want to emphasize and the elements that need to remain visually connected to it.

Flat panel systems

Develop a clean surface composition with considered panel sizes, joint positions, and transitions at the edges.

Framed panel details

Explore a more articulated arrangement of frames and panels that relates to the room proportions and surrounding trim.

Dimensional features

Discuss layered surfaces and changes in depth where the wall needs more relief or a defined focal area.

Integrated transitions

Consider how the paneling meets corners, openings, baseboards, ceilings, and adjacent cabinetry.

These are directions to explore. Final materials, features, inclusions, and installation details are defined in the approved project scope.

The edges matter as much as the center.

Wall geometry

Share the full wall width and height along with photos of corners, ceilings, and nearby openings.

Surface composition

Identify the preferred panel rhythm, finish direction, and the features that should remain prominent.

Items on the wall

Mark outlets, controls, screens, lighting, and access panels so they can be considered in the layout.

How is wall paneling different from a media wall?

Paneling focuses on the wall surface and its architectural composition. A media wall also organizes the television, equipment, and storage. The scopes can be combined when the room calls for both.

Can the design continue around a corner?

Include photographs of both wall faces and the corner condition. The panel layout, edge detail, and finish transitions should be considered together before confirming the scope.

Should outlets and switches be shown in the design?

Yes. Include all visible wall devices and any access requirements in your initial information. They should be treated as part of the composition, not discovered after the panel arrangement has been approved.

What affects the price of a feature wall?

Surface area, panel pattern, dimensional detailing, finish, edge conditions, and installation access shape the scope. A reference image is useful, but the actual wall conditions are equally important.
